What is a Clinical Breast Examination?
A Clinical Breast Examination (CBE) is a physical examination performed by medical professionals to check for lumps, swelling, skin changes, or other abnormalities in the breasts and underarms. It is a simple, painless screening method that helps detect potential breast health concerns at an early stage.
How does Healium perform Breast Cancer Screening?
Our teams set up a completely non-invasive, no-touch, no-see, no-pain, no-radiation Thermalytix ® test in a temperature-controlled environment. The patient sits inside a booth, and our screening device scans her from a distance. To ensure 100% privacy, our Female Technicians instruct her from outside the booth.
Is breast cancer screening painful?
No. Thermalytix ® test is completely painless. It is quick, safe, and performed completely without contact.
How long does the screening take? Do I need to fast?
The screening may take 8-10 minutes, and just a 1 hour fasting is required, making it a quick and convenient health check.
At what age should screening begin?
Women should get regular breast cancer screenings once a year, above the age of 30, & below 30 if they have family cancer history.
Can men develop breast cancer?
Yes. Although rare, men can develop breast cancer. Early evaluation of any breast lump or unusual change is important.
What happens if something abnormal is found?
If an abnormality is detected, our teams will explain the findings and recommend appropriate follow-up tests, imaging, or specialist consultation for further evaluation and timely care.
Is mammography included?
No. Mammography is not included but may be recommended if further evaluation is required after the screening.
Can I attend if I have breast implants?
Yes. Women with breast implants can safely undergo screening. Please let us know before the examination begins so the appropriate screening technique can be used.
